HalvBirken run is 12 km start and finish at Birkebeineren Ski Stadium (525 masl)
The track is in forrest terrain consisting of both gritt, forrest roads, paths and grass -
Food- and drink stations
Information for 2020 will be published in August
Drink and food station after 6 km (Kroken). Maxim sports drink, water, bananas and traditional pastry.
After crossing the finish line you will be served warm soup, water, Maarud® potato crisps and sausage from Gilde.
Remember to drink enough water both prior to and during the race. -
Starting times, seeding and classes
HalvBirken run has seeded wave start and free seeding.
You choose wave when entering the race. You can change wave at your My Page if avalable spots until June 10th
All waves start at real time , except wave 1 that start at start shot.
Preliminary starting times- kl. 13.30: Wave 1, better than 1.05
- kl. 13.35: Wave 2, 1.05-1.09
- kl. 13.40: Wave 3, 1.10-1.14
- kl. 13.45: Wave 4, 1.15-1.19
- kl. 13.50: Wave 5, 1.20-1.29
- kl. 13.55: Wave 6, more than 1.30 and disabled (FH)
Classes
Age classes for women and men.
16-19 yrs, 20-29 yrs, 30-39 yrs and so on.

Prizes
All participants recieve a competitors pin (in the start number packet) and a diploma that will be avialable for download at My Page .
Distribution of all other prizes is in the prize area at Birkebeineren ski stadium.
We do not send prizes, pins or diplomas in the mail, so please remember to stop by Håkons Hall to recieve yours, before leaving the area.

Roads that will bew closed on race day- Sjøsetervegen will be closed east of Birkebeiner Skistadion where HalvBirken run crosses the road between 08.30-15.00
- Nybuvegen is closed. Furubakken will be periodically closed 09.00-17.00

License
All participants, including foreigners, must have a valid license to enter Norwegian running events.
All participants age 13-79 must have a valid licence to start in running events in Norway. If you have a valid licence through your team, bring your licence card when you retrieve your BIB.
Purchase
The licence is not included in the entry fee. It can be purchased when entering, through your My Page, or at the race office when retrieving your BIB.
Exception: Birken 5KM - AKTIV against cancer: Licence is included in the entry fee.
Injuries during the race
If you are injured during one of the Birkebeiner events, please contact the insurance company. -
Race rules
All competitors needs a license.
Bacpak is compulsary for UltraBirken run.
For safety reasons there are special rules for clothes and equipment that you must bring when participating in UltraBirken: Food, drink, extra clothes, reflex west, mobile phone. Bumbag is not allowed
Audio
For your safety it is not allowd to use any form of audio during the race.
Time keeping / Bib
The BIB must be visible at all times during the race. For your own safety it is not allowed to wear another participants BIB.
Identification must be provided in case of random control.
Your bib is also your time keeper. A chip at the back side of the bib logs your start time, split time and time at the finish.
Real time: Birkebeinerløpet and HalvBirken run
A start mat placed at start activates your time keeping when you pass it. Exceptions: The elite classes in Birkebeinerløpet and wave 1 in HalvBirken run start at start shot.
Start shot UltraBirken run, Birken fjellmaraton and UngdomsBirken run
Time keeping starts as the start shot is fired.
Split times/Birkebeiner medal times during the race
During Birkebeinerløpet time keeping boards is placed by Sjøsætervegen and Kroken. It tells you what time you need to be able to make the Birkebeiner medal. Note: These times are all un-official.
Complaints
Against race conditions: 30 minutes after passing the finish line.
Against the list of results: 30 minutes after the list and results have been published.
The complaint must be submitted in writing with a fee of NOK 100 at the Race Office in Håkons Hall.Please also see the entry conditions

Starting card
Starting card is available for download from your My Page, from approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the race. This is your participation confirmation.The start card must be shown to retrieve your BIB. You may also use the Birken app for this.
There is no registration on the day of the race. -

Luggage delivery is by the start at Birkebeineren Skistadion.
UltraBirken run and Birken fjellmaraton
Luggage drop of is close to start.
Drop zones for items needed during the race:
UltraBirken run: Pellestova and Nordsetervegen/Sjusjøvegen.
Birken fjellmaratong: Nordsetervegen/Sjusjøvegen.
Hand in these items in the start area.
Label/transport
Remember to use the labels inckuded in your race package, and then bring your luggage to the drop zone.
